Who Says We Have to Act Old All the Time? Any Other Kids at Heart?

Oh, yes!
i still
have a childlike fascination with nature.
stop and watch hawks hunting. i talk to all living things.
get waves of awe and joy looking at the night sky.
When interested in something i can get hyper focused on learning about it
And i've been known to blow raspberries at my DD when she's being a smart ass.
Have also used this clip when felt like raspberry was most honest response to someone online:

I know me neither. It's kind of hard to be a kid when you are totally parentified. For those not familiar with the term (I only learned it a few years ago) it's when the child is treated like an adult not a child and the adult parent acts like a child.
Now i really have to find my essay 'It is never too late for a happy childhood ' i was parentified too, doubly-- from earliest memory i felt responsible for Mama's mood and by the amount of caregiving for younger brother i shouldered. A combo of transaction analysis and meditation helped me heal, but there both simple and slightly more complex ways of reclaiming one's self.as well as some fun ways.

I think so. I have never felt any different than I did at 17. I still follow my beauty routines, try to keep my hair style youthful and not outdated, wear clothing that is not necessarily "mature" and have even gone "parking" with my boyfriend. No matter how bad I might feel at various times due to my knees hurting, I never show it to others. I stay positive and up as much as I can and always look forward to tomorrow. I can never wait till morning and I have always been like that my whole life.

My adult life has been much about actively having physical fun. Most adults (interested mainly about money and sex) at most only enjoy watching others (tv and movies) having physical fun, especially sports. Their physical only fun is walking from tv to fridge door or yanking down one arm bandits at casinos or endless drinking and drugging "partying". As a young twenty-something that much enjoyed playing usual American sports like baseball, that was a huge disappointment. No one wants to actually play anymore! Well it is true many go to the gym but few kids would ever consider such activity fun.

So left to my own, began a life of solo activities fishing, hiking, backpacking, photography, rock concerts, and especially winter snow skiing. The only non-solo sport I managed was table tennis. This week, will be hiking out 5 miles into wilderness to a mountain lake near 10k surrounded by snow dappled granite peaks, backpacking a few nights with a bro. Little old me at 139# at age 73 carrying 59#.

An only child living on a small farm,, farm animals became my friends,, .
Following my grandfather as he did his chores,, in the barn ,outside in the fields.

Mother gave up keeping me in dresses. She did take me on hikes & went fishing with me.
She & I would stop by an old pond to watch dragon flies, snapping turtles,, talk about animal life in general.

Meeting my husband in high school was meeting someone who enjoyed being in the forest as much as I did.
No wonder we got married 3 yrs after graduating.
We have encouraged our sons to enjoy the outdoors.

And yes,,if we could travel more , you would find us ATVing somewhere in a National Forrest.
If the motor home wasn't such gas hog we'd have that with us.
Our 80yr old bones require a good bed to sleep on.

I still like to colour in a colouring book but it is pencil crayons now. When my granddaughter was young (about 4 yrs ago) I used her crayons. I will be reading some younger children's books, i.e, Dr Doolittle, when I get it from the library. I like to walk through puddles and drive through others with a big splash. I am boring you yet?

Yes! Age double figure added together comes to 9 years old. Unfortunately, what irks me to the core are when others that are supposed to behave properly and of course professionally are so childish, it's beyond imagination LOL LOL LOL!
