Who uses stamps anymore, or cash?

The little devil, Ruth n Jersey, re-uses stamps, but how many of you still use stamps. I've used three this year, but that probably won't happen again. And I've decided to go all debit card. I don't use any cash. How many of you are down sizing your use of cash?

I hardly ever send anything"snail mail". I pay everything on-line. Also, use a debit card most of the time. And I cannot remember the last time I wrote a check for anything.

I use Apple Pay on my phone instead of swiping my card whenever possible which provides an extra layer of security than using my card directly.

My daughter loves to send (and receive) a traditional card by mail on anyone's birthday. A tradition she's not going to give up easily!

We still send cards for a variety of occasions. Good example, a dear friend of ours had a very serious surgery and faced a long, painful recovery time. My wife bought a bunch of inexpensive "get well" and "encouragement" cards and sent the out at regular intervals. We'd both add a note wishing him well and knew that it would mean a lot. We of course have to send cards to our grandkids over in England, and we still send out cards at Christmas, so stamps are always in the house.

As for cash, I use very little these days except when I visit my masseuse. She can't take credit cards. Otherwise, it's credit cards for everything. Gotta get those points/rewards. When we travel I'll take some cash including small bills for tipping at hotels.

I use cash whenever I can. Cash is anonymous. And I much prefer to send and receive handwritten letters and cards to the impersonal e stuff.

Donchaknow whenever you use a card for purchases someone somewhere (big brother) knows where you shopped, what you bought and how much money you spent.

I still use both. Stamps on birthday cards, etc and cash for small purchases. I always carry some coins in my back pocket..... even though they tend to make a hole in it!

Ditto. I still use postage stamps especially at Christmas time. Also, send get well cards to people. Someone can always bring them their snail mail when they're not well enough to use their computers or smartphones. And cash is handy for small purchases and yard sales and estate sales where they don't take credit cards.

I pay all my bills online, and do not carry cash anymore. I haven't sent anything snailmail in ages and I'm not sure I even have any checks.

I don't care if Big Brother knows how many cantaloupes I bought at Sprouts last week.

How do those of you who "never" use cash pay for newspapers, or a public rest room, or contribute to a collecting tin, or parking?

You surely don't use a debit card for stuff costing less than one dollar?

And for men using peripatetic sex workers, I certainly can't afford the class of girls who offer credit/debit card facilities!

The only bar in town is "cash only", but they have their own ATM that you can use your debit/credit card to get cash, for a small fee of course. Local farmers markets are cash only too. I use a stamp or two a month. Birthday/sympathy/get well cards, etc. Write maybe a check a month.

I still use a few stamps a year and pay for many things with cash.
Debit cards hold up the line at check-outs and I like having some cash in my
purse at all times.
I see people who buy a chocolate bar and a bag of chips and use a debit card.
It boggles my mind.

We pay most all of our bills online. We do send greeting cards and the occasional bill. I use cash for things under twenty dollars, above it goes on the plastic.

My SIL drive me nuts never has cash, will by a cup of coffee on plastic. I don't know!

Most of my bills are set up on auto-pay, I do get an email notice and a snail mail statement on each, I use very few stamps. I'm interested in the iphone pay thing that someone talked about...will have to check it out.

Stamps and checks. Many places charge extra for cash or even a receipt which supposed to be part of business transaction. They act like they are tortured to take money.

What - I've never had this happen to me - can you tell us where/when you have experienced this?

I've used a storage unit that refused cash and wanted an extra dollar a month for "documentation" or a receipt. Along with mailed notifications. Many insurance companies now want you to do everything online and/or you print everything. I know apartments buildings that are also trying the same thing-online/auto pay only.

Many will give a discount if you pay by auto-pay....I know Dish knocked off $10 a month for me, I had to ask though....also I get an Insurance discount.

Still pay a few bills that come less often than monthly, by mail---insurance, taxes, annual fees, donations. Most others are autopay. Just never got around to setting some of them up as bill pay. Some that might easily change, I would not set up either way.

Pay cash mostly if it's under $10, although that might change, because now it seems it's faster to use a credit card than cash, even for tiny amounts, since you don't have to even sign.
