Who wants to hear a story of crooked Christians?

My uncle passed away and left me a 1/6 share of his estate which his brother was the executor. The whole family are devoted church going Christians.
It's been over 10 years and the executor has got the estate involved in multiple lawsuit regarding the sale of a property. We have only received a small portion of the estates value. The executor son is a accountant and I am sure he's been cooking the books. When I call him he immediately claims I am harassing him and threatened to call the cops. I told him to go ahead. After years of searching I finally found a lawyer that can help me and she's aweful to deal with and greedy as all tommorow. There's hundreds of thousands of dollars missing from the estate and the executor refuses to answer any questions.
Hes very old and likely will die soon and his crooked son will take over. All the other original beneficiary have passed away over the last 10 years. One aunts portion is missing as both her executor have died. These are pillars in there local church.
I remeber when my dad was alive many years ago speaking with the executor about their father's money and my dad was yelling at him on the phone that he was not allowed to touch my granfathers money. Now I know why. My dad was a wise man.

I was talking to my near 87 year old Dad.

Dad: "Son. When an elderly person passes away, the pot goes on the middle of the table...then it's game on."

I came from a family of 5 kids. Mom always said, "I don't care if you're the President of the Company...or the Janitor. It all goes 5 ways."

My friend was in a similar situation so I called him and asked how he handled his situation. He said his attorney offered him two ways to force the hand of the executor. He could either sue the executor or petition the court. He decided to take the quickest way by petitioning the court. It still took him 8 months to get it into court, but the judge passed down his ruling in less than 60 days.

He said it’s not cheap and all the assets had to be accounted for and then a referee named to divide the estate. The reason he didn’t sue the executor was because since there were 3 other beneficiaries, all of them had to agree to the suit and the deceased’s brother declined to do so.

Ya I have already asked some other beneficiary if they are willing to share in the legal costs and none of them even answered me. Of course these are third and forth heirs as so many of the original beneficiary and there spouse have passed away. Thanks for your assistance and support. The executor can use the estate money and lawyer to defend himself and only be accountable financially if he's found to fail his judiciary responsibility. I suspect he's got nothing to take and the court wouldn't leave his wife homeless if he's dead. So it would be a moral victory and nothing more.

What does whether or not these people are Christians have to do with anything? Would their beliefs have been named in the thread title had they been Jewish, Muslim, or atheist? I can't see what it has to do with your inheritance fight... fill us in?

Maybe I am old school but true Christians woukdnt act the way these people are. A man who spent every Sunday in church obviously didn't hear what what was being taught. They are Christians in their heads but not in their hearts. Who gets his brothers property involved in multiple lawsuites because he's angry and being a bully? It got him nowhere. The man was in his 80s when this started and he shoukd have known better. If you go to church and don't hear the message then you only go to seek approval from others..
One of his sisters, the last siblings alive, try to defend him but it was death by 1000 cuts.

The truth?

My mother is 90 years of age, and in decline. My brother is a hyper-controlling guy who wants everything for himself. There's £200K, in property, at stake for all of us.

Now, my mother is alive, I want her to stay alive as long as possible. I don't think about the money, we're talking human life here. We're talking my mother. How could I plan for life without her, especially in monetary terms?!?!?!?!

But I know, for fact, that getting the estate sorted will be a nightmare. That's my brother for you. He will fight for more, just because he can. It'll take forever to resolve . Simple acceptance is not something he can work with. It's sad, but knowing before hand somehow pleases me.

I don't rely on that money. I have no plans for it. I want my mother to live. It's that simple. The rest is money for lawyers.
