Who were your better grandparents - maternal or paternal?

The only grand parents I knew were my step father's parents. I feel privileged to have had them in my life.
He was a Gallipoli veteran and an absolute gentleman, she was a beautiful soul.
Did you ever see photos of your blood grandparents ?

so do you look like either one of them ?
It's hard to tell. I certainly don't dress like that. I have studied their faces, but I don't see much of a resemblance. My grandfather looks nothing like he did as I remember him in his later in life. In all those old photos from that time period, everyone looks frozen, and personalities seldom come through.

true everyone did look frozen, because photographers told them to stay still... and as for the clothing, those photos were probably taken a 100 years ago, so you wouldn't dress the same...:D

❤️❤️
My paternal grandparents were loving, but low-key, quiet. They had a pretty limited income in retirement. Paternal granddad was actually my father's step dad. I admired him for being a smart, well-read parson.

My maternal granddad died when I was about four. From everything I've heard he was a good-natured rascal of some sort. My maternal grandmother was a bubbly and fun woman, maybe because she was Italian-Swiss. And too, her hubby had left her in a goo

My paternal grandparents embodied love, care, and a forward-thinking spirit. My Oma was part of a large family, one of 21 children, with 18 surviving to adulthood. My Oma and Opa both earned their college degrees, and my Oma was among the pioneering women to make her mark on Wall Street.Eventually, she established her own clothing boutique, driven by her passion for fashion, which is where I discovered my own love for it. My Opa was an engineer. Their presence was a cherished part of our lives, and we eagerly anticipated each moment spent in their company.
