Who would be one of your favourite comedians?

I have been watching on the internet lately the comedian Sebastian Maniscalco. He is one of the funniest I have seen for a long time. He said his mother is Italian and his father is Sicilian. His accent sounds like he is from a tough suburb in New York. He talks about his life experiences and was brought up tough. On the British side I have always liked Michael McIntyre. Any particular comedians you like?
 

@oscash, if you can listen to American podcasts, he talked with Bill Maher earlier this year. Sebastian was from Chicago and his father had fancy hair salons. Previously, I didnā€™t care for his standup routines. After listening to him, he gained more respect.

I Can't say that I've any favourite comedians ( I find Michael McIntyre about as funny as a car crash). I quite like David Sedaris who I find fun to listen to, although I didn't enjoy his books so much. In the past, I really liked the Irish comedian, Dave Allen who poked fun at religion.

My son and a good friend of mine love Dave Chappelle. I never could get into him. I really, really hate the frequent use of the N word by comedians and any other artists but I have to admit, Dave's routine about Jussie Smollet was fun-nee! @dilettante posted it in another thread the other day. When I told my son about it, he actually almost recited the entire thing verbatim! My son thinks it was brilliant and said he likes the methods Chappelle uses to come up with his routines.
 
I like most of the stand-up comedians listed above and watched most of their Netflix specials. They make me wince at times because many are anti-religious, and in the case of black comedians the too frequent use of the N word, as well as the b...h word, but their routines are mostly funny and I enjoy them despite the wincing.

But if I had to quote my all time favourites it would be comedians like Bob Newhart, now discredited Bill Cosby, and Jack Benny!

I cannot STAND Michael McIntyre...neither can I bear Jimmy Carr.. ..or Alan Carr for that matter..

I still find Jim Davidson funny in small doses.... and of course Ricky Gervais... but at the other end of the spectrum.. David Mitchell makes me laugh out loud ..he's so quick witted...and droll

I think if I had to choose one only..it would be Lee Mack.. the man's brain is like a joke machine...
