With all the reports of virus case increases in various states being linked to or associated with bars in detail what is going in those bars that is increasing transmission.
Let me say for starters in any indoor environment period I think exhaust fans/systems are just as important as much of the extra cleaning. One doesn't want to recirculate contaminated air. In many bars and restaurants a common feature is a ceiling fan which winds up swishing the same air around in many cases especially without a second source/outside air.
Setting that aside in a bar environment what is the actual source of transmission-people bumping into or touching each other? Dirty glasses or eating utensils with associated food service? In many buildings I think many overlook or forget to clean door handles-if people are going in and out of the restrooms all the time how often are those handles cleaned. Is cigarette smoke helping carry the micro droplets? How about the alcohol itself, if the alcohol content of the air increases but not enough to kill the virus are airborne alcohol fumes helping carry the virus? Or does alcohol consumption increase the chances of the virus leaving the body in some form? Or is it simply alot of people in close proximity breathing each other's air?
What is going on inside those bars or what is going with that demographic outside in their own environment.
