Why didn't anyone tell us?

Most of our plastics..( bottles , cans etc ) are now BPA free and have been for a few years here in the UK..not sure about the USA or anywhere else , and unless I think I may be returning an item I always refuse the till receipt

Hollydolly, do your plastic bottles carry the code to indicate how they are produced?

Not to poo poo the article, but some of their 'findings' caught my interest

A decade after the study, nearly 10 percent of the participants had died. The researchers found that people with the highest BPA levels had a 51 percent higher risk of death from any cause, whether from cancer, heart disease or an accident, Newsweek reported.

So, if your BPA level is high......you're accident prone?

Dontcha just love statistics

You meant to write "reuse" right? Not wanting to act like the spell-checker police, but just wanted to make a comment that if anyone else is reusing their water bottles, it's a good idea to wash them before refilling. Water bottles tend to collect bacteria through its use and washing them will take care of that little problem.

When traveling on the highways, I often stopped at rest areas and I watched as people would refill their water bottles, some were plastic and some were professional made bottles that they had purchased. I would wonder from time to time, "I wonder how often they wash their bottle?"

I don't know about deaths but do know from personal experience that I am highly allergic. Contact with certain things immediately made my sinuses flow like a faucet (sorry about disturbing mental image).

I mistakenly put a cash register receipt in my mouth (needed a third hand to open car door). Immediate reaction. Not just sniffles, needed a towel.

Mr. Google explained why. I saw an allergist who said, "don't worry about it. Just carry a little spray bottle of this in your pocket. I use it several times a day. I'll write you a script for it."
