Why do crazy looking guys always wear crazy looking hats?

There was a guy zooming through the supermarket today and I think if you got in the way he would mow you down.

He was wearing the appropriate bomber style hat.

It's geek/nerd style. The weirder they look, the weirder they dress. I see some of them wearing these Peruvian-style toques that are guaranteed to look strange on any guy who isn't gorgeous. They are popular among board sports enthusiasts, but they usually look pretty good.

I crocheted one just like that style a few years ago. It's really warm. No need for earmuffs.

On the pro tour they dress meticulously. They are not allowed to wear shorts, not matter how hot and humid it is.

Their caddies can wear shorts

And a lot of private golf clubs have a dress code for both men and women.

I wore a pith helmet in high school courtesy of a local army surplus store. However, I stopped wearing it when the U.S. Post Office started issuing them in blue to mailmen.

Sadly, I never frightened anyone, but I don't believe that I ever wore it in Canada.

A guy in Walmart (naturally) had one of those I-don't-know-the-proper-name-but-I-call-them-"pimp"-hats hats yesterday. Furry plush, baby blue, rhinestone hatband, huge. Used to see them in Detroit all the time. I wonder where he managed to find one after all these years.
