Why do people like to watch TV doctor show series?

A fellow building maintenance mechanic shared with me that there was a lot of screwing going on, when he worked at the county hospital. 🤔
That part may be more realistic than I thought then. But screwing aside, the staff could still use some psychotherapy.

I watch TV with my wife when I am bored. She like to watch doctor shows so sometimes I watch them with her. She has The Good Doctors series recorded and I saw about two episodes today. Today I asked her why people like to watch doctor shows and she said she did not know why.

Some of those shows scare me seeing how the doctors do experimental procedures and how they trust their last-minute instincts on how to treat a patent. I think if I was in a hospital like that and they were wanting to do things like that on me I would run away from the hospital never to come back.

Just let me die peacefully on my own terms I don't want to go there and have them kill me by pumping me full of drugs and doing operations on me that I would most likely not recover from.

Just remembered that I watched St. Elsewhere back in the early 80s. There wasn’t much to watch in those days and I recall respecting it until the final show. What a pathetic ending.

I don't know either. The Good Doctor is one that I do like. I own the DVDs for each season so far. It's a bit out there, but not as far out as Doogie Howser.

The shows are a lot more caring

Hospital T V shows
Person is rushed in on a gurney. Directed to an open bay where a trauma surgeon, an ER doctor & several nurses begin an exam.

Real life
Person is wheeled in on a gurney. Directed to the admissions desk where insurance info is taken. Once completed taken to the triage nurse to assess the problem.

You might want to check out the 1982 movie, Young Doctors In Love. It's kind of an antedote to all of the serious doctor shows, and parts of it are hilarious!
