Why is everything so hard to open?

This morning I went to open a carton of Almond Milk and couldnt unscrew the cap no matter how much I tried.
I finally had to get out the pliers. WTH. Trust me. I am not a weak woman.
Makes me worry about people with mobility issues.
Anybody else having trouble or is it just me.

And dont get me started on how everything is hermetically sealed in indestructible plastic.
If youre not careful you can destroy whatever is inside trying to get it out.
Ive learned to keep a razor knife handy in the kitchen.

I've had the same problem with the soy milk and other cartons that are the same kind as regular milk. I had to use some pliers too. It is very frustrating! I started getting different kinds of "milk" and many don't have that cap that won't come off. It's funny how they had the unopenable ones on sale! I think that may be why...lol

There's that. But I've noticed that the little fat layer below the skin on my palms has become thinner, making an effective grip more difficult.

As my vision get worse it is becoming more difficult to find the ‘easy open’ features on many packages.

I also find that the reclosable feature on many packages simply don’t work or are damaged when opening the package originally.

I’m still able to open jars without assistance but sometimes I do have to resort to a variety of old tricks to make that happen.

The absolute worst are the hard plastic shells that are used on a variety of gadgets and small electronics.

I guess I’ll be ok if these are the biggest problems that I have to deal with on a daily basis. 😉🤭😂

That was my complaint (a week ago? ) how tough those sealed openings were to peel open. I also have cutter ready.

Just think, would we be here if the Tylenol murders hadn't happened?

Don't know why but it's a huge problem!

I use an old-fashioned nut cracker to open twist caps. Sometimes I struggle with those so-called "resealable" bags like sliced cheese cones in, You have to slice the opening just right, then have to line up the closures just right.

I find on glass jar lids, inserting a table knife between the glass and lid and wiggling it going around the lid will usually pop it. Be sure to lay the jar upside down on a flat surface doing this.

😂 It is ridiculous how these things can often be hard to open... those "hermetically sealed"
packages bring out some crusty sailor-talk outta my mouth and the cats to running.

But as long as I can still open my eyes in the morning... I reckon that I'm doing okay.
(But, then again... if they don't open, I reckon that I'll be better still 🙏)

I buy these little four packs of soup from Campbell’s and boy are they dangerous to open!!!

They have a very sharp metal pop top and the container is filled to the brim, I end up making a mess about 3 out of every four containers but I hate to give it up.

The same with these little fruit snack cups, very difficult to open without making a mess but I still buy them.

I guess I’m just a slow learner! 😉🤭😂

I don't usually need to, but occasionally I do fish the nut cracker out of the drawer for the same purpose. Because we don't keep pliers in the kitchen.

These are especially difficult for school lunches. They return home unopened or damaged more often than not.

What a relief to read all of these posts.

I have all of those problems and thought it was because I am ancient and have nerve damage and other hand problems.
I use my old pliers a lot and one of those old fashioned openers with the pointy tip at one end. It is good for prying of those metal tops.
The worst thing for me is separating a band aid from it protective strips.
