Why people can stare at fire for hours?

It is because of the ultraviolet rays it emits.
They're good for you so we tend to soak them up like in a sunrise or sunset.

Its Primeval... it means "safety". The "carrier of the fire" or - "firebearer"...whose job it was to keep and carry a small fire lit all the time, when the tribe moved, in order to have warmth and safety from the wild animals, like the cave lions. Lightening enabled them to first discover fire and the uses for it.

so memorising....i love a big open fire

sadly not got one in my new place
but we had a 30foot inglenook fireplace in the last house , which we could sit inside and around
it was lovely

The fire pit was a gathering place for all of my family, even the dog would hang out nearby. The strangest thing I ever saw was a snake that tried to escape the dog and ended up in the coals albeit briefly. He ended up getting away after all of that. It might have been The Devil. Yikes!
