Why some people use too much jargon

I know what you mean, Rose.
All of this text language where everything is shortened to just a few letters confuses me. I know it's the modern way, but I prefer to write messages in full the way I was taught at school, that way at least, the texters can still understand me. 😊

Sometimes I have to go to Google to decipher some acronym used online (I believe they've become popular due to dialogues in social media, and in texting). But I'm uncertain whether acronyms are what Rose is referring to.

Rose?

Jargon or vocabulary? It probably is related to what they read, who they converse with, what they do/did for a living.

But yes, for some it isn't natural. More of an affectation intended to dazzle or project an air of superiority.

All that said, people do vary wildly in intelligence, literacy, and lived experiences.

Too much jargon and too many words bore me, I wish people would practice being consice instead of trying to dazzle.
