Why Such Protest on Certain Subjects?

I am definitely not religious and certainly not an activist of any sort. I believe what I believe and it falls under 'Things I don't Discuss', or 'Things I'll Save for the Voting Booth' or 'Things That Don't Concern Me.'
The ignore button has been discussed. Please use accordingly.

Do you mind if I scoop your words here?
I’d like to use it to help me.
It’s a nicely condensed list of ‘ what NOT to do,’ and I thank you for it.

It can all depend on how it's presented. Like "If you don't know someone or s.e.x.u.ality, then you're ignorant and should shut up"

Damned if I'll let some dimwit post such without a response. It's not a protest, but more of a "You need a checkup, from the neck up" response.

I agree, I don't complain when someone says something that doesn't interest me, I just move on. Have not found the need for the ignore button yet.
I don't ever use the "ignore" button because it reminds me of Berlin before the war. I mean, It's
complaining about your neighbor because they annoy you without taking responsibility for
repercussions. haha! Just me. What do I know?
Moving on is good.

Less to do with the actual subject and more to do with being preached at by a new member doing nothing BUT preaching. Its not a place here JUST for christians, I thought. And thank you to Matrix....
Thank you to Matrix? Then abvoiusly he deleted the thread. Was the OP the one with the yellow avatar? I read the first comments and it seemed pretty normal, but I don't know how it went on.
I've never used the ignore button.

If I came on here s a new member, and set up post after post preaching Druidism and Paganism, never engaging, but just preaching it, about half of you here would have a fit about it. Christianity is NOT the only religion in the world, just the most obnoxious in thinking so. And yes, as a non-christian, I have been subjected to mean responses here.

A religious thread. 🙄
If I'd have to guess, I'd say it was the copyright infringement and not the topic. I don't often say a lot in those topics, or political topics, but I enjoy reading them... There are a number of religion topics here now, and there's not been a problem with them that I know... but the sermon that was copied and pasted had a copyright notice on it with "all rights reserved." If the poster wanted to use it (it was interesting!) permission from the website where it originated would have been easy to obtain, I think.

I may have spoken out about the copyrighted material but please leave the new poster in peace. She has posted about five, six threads since her arrival and those who are of like mind will find her and those who aren't interested can always by-pass her threads. Since I belong to a denomination that is less literal in the interpretation of scripture I won't be visiting since I would only sow dissent with my remarks. Please remember what freedom of speech is all about and please stay as friendly as you have been so far! Even to the "religious!" :)

Yes, I saw that... maybe she went to get author permission? Not sure one of those bots could have caught it so soon, but I don't think it was about the topic at all... it was the "all rights reserved." Maybe she'll stop by here and let us know.
EDIT: I just checked to make sure.... there are indeed copyright bots. (aka content recognition software.)

Copyright laws are tricky for who's responsible for posts on a public forum that infringes on copyrighted material. She couldn't delete the post herself, although she might have asked for it to be deleted. It wasn't a bot that caught it. More than likely, the administrator saw it and decided it was best to delete it.
