This is a very interesting 15 minute video from Dr Suneel Dhand. I've posted his work before on here, he's a British qualified Doctor currently living and working in the USA.. and a Senior Doctor at a hospital in Cape Cod.
Here in this video he explains why we cannot find a good primary care doctor any more in the UK and the USA.. and explains why the doctors we do have are now practising medicine by the book instead of using their Brain.. at 6.57 onwards he explains the new way of choosing and training Medical Students.. very worrying..:(. I recommend you watch this whole video, to be fore-armed and forewarned of what to expect when you're being treated for medical issues.. and how to take charge of your own health..

After COVID left me looking for new doctors. So many good doctors quit. When I finally found a couple of doctors they treated me very badly. Agism?
Has anyone else had this kind of treatment?

It is hard to find a good doctor. Its a shame.. and yes I believe I am starting to experience "agism" .. just gotta keep trying till you find a good one. I think I have now. But I def have PTSD from the last one. Im sorry you are experiencing this w people who are supposed to care.

many did leave practicing ..... some simply lost staff after covid and could not reopen a practice ... even clinics here are now half of the number of them before.... insurance has gotten so narrow and cumbersome hard to find anyone who takes some insurances.
others make no real diagnosis or anything too afraid of being called out on it.......

I use a site called www.healthgrades.com where the PATIENTS rate all the doctors in America. I only use those doctors with the highest patient ratings. I believe 90% of doctors are DANGEROUS to the patient. In the past I suffered severe damage from 2 doctors and my father and brother were killed by doctors.

So far the doctors I now use selected from the highest patient ratings have been great.

I've been going to my Primary Care Physician for several years now. I'm very happy with him. He is close to my age and lives close to my neighborhood. After my physical, he takes time to explain the outcome and recommends natural remedies if appropriate. If I call his staff to have a prescription refilled, it is handled within a day. He sees my partner as well. I had a heart-to-heart with him and asked how he was doing. He shared that he is under tremendous pressure by the "higher ups" to abide by their rules, see a certain number of patients a day, etc. etc.

I see that many doctors today are part of a group because that is the only way they can survive. When I went to see a Urologist, who is part of a larger group of doctors, the waiting room looked like Grand Central Station. He had not looked at any of the tests or medical records sent over by my Primary Care Physician, so we had to start from scratch.

I feel very fortunate that I can get appointments with my current doctor and that he has candid conversations with me, but I get the feeling he will retire soon, and I will miss him.

My spouse went to see his Doctor for Blood Pressure problems. He complained of his leg going numb sometimes and hurting some. His doctor told him for years, "Its the process of getting older, you will have pain". Spouse asked him to check it, he gave him muscle relaxers. My spouse wouldn't take the muscle relaxers. It went on for a couple of years. My spouse died at age 58, Had a blood clot behind his knee, it burst, looked like a "Starburst" It went to his heart. That Doctor will one day receive his karma. I do not believe in doctors. Acute care great, reg. problems...no way.

I am truly blessed. All the doctors in my team or good...some I'd even describe as wonderful. I love my PCP of about 30 years and we became friends, sharing music and the same instrument in common. He takes time with me and sometimes we have to compromise due to my proactive stance on my meds and care. He takes time, explains whatever I need explaining, does a thorough review of my blood work and rarely do I get out the examining room in less than an hour.

I love my glaucoma specialist...I credit her with saving my vision when other eye specialists got it all wrong. I also love my podiatrist who's demeanor reminds me very much of my PCP. He also takes time and my feet feel so good when he's done. My cardiologists are new but I can already tell they are good at what they do. I feel bad for people who have doctors who are not good, not caring and treat them like they are on an assembly line.

Medicine is like all businesses; and it is a business. Large corporations squeeze out the little guy and then the bean counters take over. Most doctors are now just corporate employees like the people who fill boxes at Amazon. It's a production line. Nurse practitioners now do much of the work so the doctor can spend even less time with you.

We had the same doctor for over 30 years. He delivered both our sons. He knew us and took care of us. He had one nurse and his wife was the receptionist. It was a sad day when he retired.

I have had my doctor for 26 years and really love her. She is smart and really listens to me. She’s 10 years younger than me and I will be sad when she retires.
