Hello, I'm James and my wife is Ruth. We retired last year and are really enjoying doing everything on our own time. I was an electronics engineer, but I guess that now becomes my hobby.....especially since for the first time in 50 years, I get to do everything my way. We downsized by selling our house and now live somewhere cheaper. Hopefully now we can do some traveling without something coming up at the last minute to keep us home. Anyhow, glad to meet you here.

Oh, btw, we're in Cleburne, Texas... one county south of Ft. Worth. We had lived just North of DFW Airport for 28 years until this year.

Hi James and Ruth. We have a few members in Texas so you won't feel like strangers...

Welcome, James & Ruth from Texas! There are a few Texans here, as well as lots of international members.
I hope you get to enjoy your retirement and future travels!

They say that the worse day in retirement is better than the best day at work. I'm not sure if that is really true but I sure love being retired. You can keep the rat race and all the rats that go with it.

Welcome. I spent a number of visits to Ft. Worth during my time as an engineer. I was working on equipment for the F-16.
We do not miss the rat race either. Two days after I retired we were on a 14 day tour of South America.

Welcome, and don't let us keep you and the wife from wonderful travels. We will be here to hear the highlights when you have quiet time.:)

Welcome! I hear you. I retired a little over 2 years ago and don't miss the rat race at all. We are just east of Dallas. I have never been to Cleburne, but I hear Pete Delkus talking about it every night during the weather forecast. Enjoy your travels!

Thanks everyone for the warm welcome. I'm hoping to make some friends on here, and I really look forward to talking to international friends. Now all I have to do is get my wife to start looking at these forums too. I bet she'd like the people on here too.

Thanks again.

I can guess which 2 companies where you might have worked on the F16. I, myself, also worked on the ATF-16 fighter from a company in Garland. Is it true that if you are in Dallas/Ft. Worth long enough, you'll end up working for every large DFW employer? (ie-TI)?
