In network vision insurance, although cheap, was not a good deal. Vision chain stores boasts two for one, discount eye exams and cheap lenses. Not inexpensive but poor quality frames and lenses. She hasn't had her glasses long but she is ready to thrown them in trash because she cannot see with them.
This so called savings going through her vision insurance will cost her a new exam and new glasses from a reputable optician. On a positive note, she can reuse the glass frame.

Vision insurance is simply not worth the money. Another one that is questionable is dental insurance. Both of them try to jam you into their network and it is a pain trying to get what you want.

If you have a copy of the prescription you can take it to Costco, along with the old frames.
