Wild Weekend EF3 Tornado

I didn't get a chance to see how you fine folks were doing this weekend because of an EF3 tornado hit my friend's sub-division in the Town of Ringle. We made him and his dog at home at our place. I went with him to his place to help him do whatever was needed and help the neighbors but didn't get much of a chance to do much. Every time we would even think about doing something, someone would be there asking, "What do you need?" The community response was unbelievable and beyond words. I heard that there were volunteers from as far as Oklahoma. People as young as 10 were helping with the mess.
Once emergency resources deemed it safe for volunteers to come in, heavy equipment started rolling in, catering trucks, church groups, girl scouts, supplies left at every driveway, ect. "Overwhelming"!!!!
While I was helping to tarp his roof, I took some pictures and posted some below. NOT A SINGLE PERSON WAS INJURED DURING THIS STORM!!! This is a sample of about 100 pictures that I took.
This WAS a park like setting with mature trees everywhere.

Despite the devastation, what is good, is, nobody was hurt.
It is heart-warming that so many people showed up to help.

So many words locked up in my head.....An area high school football team showed up to help, retired military personnel were there and so many others.
I went with Tom as he walked his dog around the neighborhood. Even though I've never met his neighbors, they all knew who I was. They all really kept a watchful eye on him. They all seemed to have snacks on hand for his dog too.

Utilities were restored to the homes that were deemed safe. The power company had to replace at least 50 power poles.

That's really not bad. Sounds like the power company there is like the one here. They don't mess around and get things fixed quickly.

It's hard to imagine a normally quiet neighborhood, now with the sounds of countless excavators, semi-trucks, dump trucks, and 50 chainsaws.

This is why, when US cities recover from a tornado, people from non-tornado countries wonder how they cleaned up and rebuilt so quickly. Not all the credit goes to FEMA, that's for sure.

It seems like your friend’s house withstood much of it.

Most of his house is structurally sound. We figure that his dear wife was the angel looking out for him. That is another story of love and care beyond the norm.

First credit goes the the township and all the volunteers, then the county gets involved, then the state, and lastly, FEMA. That's what I was told, by a friend that is a town supervisor.
