Will people leave Florida after Hurricane Helene?

Do people leave San Francisco since it is sure that there will be a devastating earthquake in the future? No, they won't because they like the city and take the risk. I'd do the same with Florida If I'd live there.

I wouldn't want to keep living in an area that keeps being hammered by hurricanes. Unfortunately some may not be able to afford to relocate and some will choose to stay. I saw one lady on T.V. who said she'd rebuild! 😲 Her home was literally in splinters. That kind of thinking blows my mind, but who knows, maybe she and those like her can't afford all that goes with "packing it in" and moving elsewhere. My BFF has mulled over the idea of leaving (for a couple of reasons), but hasn't suffered major damage, thankfully. I don't think she'll ever leave.

I told my husband years ago that I would never live on an island or a coastline (or near it).
I live in Phoenix AZ and yes, it's very hot in the summer, but we have no real devastation-type weather. Our 'rainy' season (monsoons) aren't real destructive. I'm originally from PA and I will never leave AZ. The only real negative issue is traffic! I see Calif cars everywhere, and from a lot of other states as well. Combine that with the snow-birds, and roads get very congested in the winter (and the drivers here are abominably reckless.

My wife is in Florida, and no, she's not moving. It's a big state, and she wasn't affected by the hurricane.
Even if she were affected, why should she move? Somebody who loves his/her country (or state in the U.S.) will stay. In my opinion a good decision.
