"Here's the great William Shatner aka Captain James T Kirk from Star Trek having the This is your Life Experience on Thames TV 27 December 1989. Alas the only Trekkie from the original series who I recognise and I am just a fan of the original shows not an expert is the one and only late great Leonard Nimoy Mr Spock."

I Loved the original Star Trek!
Wasn't the actors that impressed me so much but the unique writing!
It was witty, intelligent and had wisdom. It opened new ways of thinking.
But the correlation between the different personalities of Spock, Kirk and
Dr. McCoy meshed so perfectly.

William Shatner boldly went into space for real. Here's what he saw....

"Blue Origin's second human spaceflight has returned to Earth after taking a brief flight to the edge of space Wednesday morning."

"Among the four passengers on board — there is no pilot — was William Shatner, the actor who first played the space-traveling Captain Kirk in the Star Trek franchise."

"The covering of blue. This sheet, this blanket, this comforter that we have around. We think, 'Oh, that's blue sky,' " an emotional Shatner said after returning to Earth."

"Then suddenly you shoot through it all of the sudden, as though you're whipping a sheet off you when you're asleep, and you're looking into blackness, into black ugliness."

"At age 90, Shatner is now the oldest person to fly into space."

FOX 411: Do you find that people get more cautious as they age?

Shatner: That’s exactly right, and I say don’t do that. Say yes. It may inconvenience you a little bit but the opportunities keep opening up.

FOX 411: What [inconveniences have you had]?

Shatner: I had to go to the hospital for a day and I had to stay overnight. That is a truly humbling experience. I recommend every actor of any renown after he’s been lauded as a great actor, he should be required to go to a hospital, especially Cedars-Sinai, and go overnight. That will humiliate him enough.

FOX 411: Was your bottom flapping in the wind?

Shatner: Worse. ‘Look there’s Captain Kirk with his bottom showing!’ (laughs). I swear to God people brought people in to be introduced at two in the morning. ‘Here is the nurse who will be taking over tomorrow at noon.’

In a recent interview with the Guardian, Shatner joked that his age was a 'ridiculous rumour' spread by the media and that he is actually 55.
Eventually, he admitted he is, indeed, 90, prompting journalist Hadley Freeman to ask if he'd ever had any 'serious work' done.
"No. Have you?" Shatner shot back to Freeman, who quipped that she couldn't afford it even if she wanted it.
Shatner continued: "Well, I don't have any secret potions. It must be genetic. I ride a lot of horses and I'm into the bewilderment of the world, so I open my heart and head into the curiosity of how things work."

He added: "I'm a competitive rider in an equine skill called reining.
"I don't know if you know it, but it's very athletic and cowboyish."
When asked what he wishes he had known at 20 that he knows at 90, Shatner replied: "I'm glad I didn't know because what you know at 90 is: take it easy, nothing matters in the end, what goes up must come down.
"If I'd known that at 20, I wouldn't have done anything!"
