Window treatment...that's obsolete...

I had to google that..I'd not heard of fabric vertical blinds before... seems they're quite popular here... Not for me tho'

They will come back in style again, trends come and go. Actually I like them, would put them in but I have a feeling kitty would climb them.

Never had them. I have had the cheap plastic miniblinds, hate those. I have 2 inch white wooden blinds now. They are easy to clean, let in light when open and close well at night to keep out the light in the morning. They also look nice open or closed. The dogs do not mess with them. There was a time when I did not have blinds at all. I liked the openess of the windows, enjoying nature coming into the house.

It took a lot of planning and saving to install them. I have about 18 windows. Now that I am older and living alone it makes me feel safer to be able to keep the blinds closed. I keep the ones at the front of the house closed and open the back ones for sunlight and view.

I always check across the street on my neighbor. She is a new widow of about 2 years. She is older, about 84, she always open her kitchen blinds that face me in the morning. The neighbors know that if they don't see or hear the dogs out there might be something wrong at my house.
There has been one time the neighbors called the police for a well check. Yes, I was sick but it was nice to know they knew something was wrong.

It was the same way when my mother lived on the next street over, if the blinds were open, she was good. Yes, I did a drive by every morning when I was working.

This is always the first concern often isn't it? I feel your pain. When I looked at that mobile the woman wouldn't take my offer on (and now has it listed for 6 grand below my offer), the place had those accordion pull up blinds my realtor stated were good blinds. But all I could see was Juniper and her claws. They would have had to be replaced. Adding cost.

Doesn’t it all depend on the quality of the windows and the quality of the blinds. I’ve had some really nice fabric vertical blinds that I liked but sold them with the house.

I don't know šŸ¤”...'torn'... don't know if I like them or not..
I think if 'they came with' a šŸ  I bought..
I'd ' live with 'em' awhile..to experience

I have long drapes.. and white wooden venetian blinds. Most of my neighbours have plantation blinds.
Oh, I see I used the wrong term. It's plantation shutters, not blinds. I once had them at another house.

(edit) Well, I now see that it seems the width of the slat determines the phrase "plantation blinds" Confusing.

What I meant here is wooden Venetian blinds, like you have, Holly.
