50 Years ago today Winston Spencer Churchill was laid
to rest.

Probably the greatest English Man ever, also can be classed
as a Great American, his mother was American.

He was the only "Commoner" in the 20th Centuary to be
given a State Funeral.

He was buried here in Oxfordshire [Bladon churchyard.] Not that far from Blenheim Palace where he was born.
 

Thank you Mike! It's hard to imagine how the free world would have carried on without him during the war.
 
He was the face and voice of England during WW2. He had a calming, confident style. He was a great leader to have when things were as they were on the England in those dark days.
 
The reaction of Australians to Winston Churchill is complex. We felt let down by him in both world wars but over and beyond that feeling he is admired. I wept when he died.
