I have planned a Caribbean cruise with a work friend for the past couple of months. She is divorced and used to work for me and we are traveling as singles. My partner and I are leaving on a flight to Miami on Thursday to spend time with a few friends prior to my boarding the ship on Saturday. He is flying home on Sunday because he still works. I just really need to get away from my Groundhog Day life. Also, this particular ship has great music venues from BB King's Blues Club to Lincoln Center Onstage. I love music.

There is now a Wintry Mix predicted for Dallas starting late tomorrow night and well into Thursday so we are staying at an airport hotel tomorrow night and taking a shuttle to the airport on Thursday morning. The shuttle service says that as long as the airport is open they will operate. I'm not sure how much snow or ice we will see but I haven't canceled my plans and I'm taking my chances. The news tends to over-exaggerate weather stories so I'm just trusting we will be okay.

If you don't hear from me starting February 5, I will have sailed off into nice warm weather and will be back on February 13. If not, I will just be on SF complaining about the trip I couldn't take! Wish me luck!

did you try and call me ? I swear to God there's something wrong with my phone, I never got your call to get to the hotel in time, I'm so sorry...*sigh*, don't miss me too much.... 😄...I hope you have a wonderful time..I'll be thinking of everything I'm missing.. 🧳🍹🛳️
 
Thank you so much to all my friends on SF but sadly we canceled our trip today because the ice and snow is coming soon and will be with us until tomorrow night. Our flight was scheduled to leave at noon tomorrow. We are pretty sure flights are going to be canceled throughout the day tomorrow so we decided not to take the chance. The good news is that everything was refunded and we will try again in March when we thaw out.

I'm so bummed. I've been packed for a couple of weeks. :ROFLMAO: My friend made it to Miami. She is bummed as well but she frequently travels solo so she will be fine.

So I will not be going missing on SF!

I just read that the Dallas/F.W. airport was shut down, Thursday, due to ice. Hope the poor guy got out.
