With so many unemployed, how can they afford to feed their pets, what happens to the pets if 50,000 plus die

What we currently do, only moreso.
You mean no kill? Keep them in shelters, pay for their keep? When the economy crashes? I doubt it. Lots of counties and states still kill animals, they just can’t afford to support them.

Yup. I believe we are now a no kill state. When Koda had a grand mal seizure we wanted him “put down”. The county shelter refused. A private medical shelter took him and he will live out his life with them. Utah treats its dogs better than its children.

Years ago, parents put their Down syndrome baby in the trash, and he was found by a passer by. When taken to court, the judge released the parents saying “they had suffered enough.” Apparently having a DS baby, is enough of a burden. Now if someone had shot them, back or front, I might not have been too upset.
