Back to the workplace and a degree of disappointment - with a lack of education seeing there are those who cannot read.
I make my point using my usual sarcastic oration to the office, though make my point clearly and concisely.

There's a degree of concern with Mum as she can't remember who it was called in to see her yesterday.
I reiterate who it was, and what they did, though am a tad of worried regarding the medication she is on.
I contact my sister and she's on the case, arranging appointments with the social worker, Carers and Mum's own G.P.

  • I sense a degree more vigillance will be required in the near and ongoing future.

Although my employment sees an heavy workoad and challenging delivery requirement, there is at least the satisfaction of achievement at the end of play.
I switch to check on Mum. Her return from Hospital looks to be going well with positive progress being made.
With new Meds and fresh Nebulizer, she looks and sounds well though vigillane is ever required for someone of her age and recent experiences.

A respite from Grandad duties see me have a (very) early night - Never has a bed been more welcomed and comfy.

A good, solid three hours sleep and my over-active imagination sees me awaken for a night of cat nap siesta type blocks of slumber, though when the alarm clock radio sparks into life.

I am quite rested and ready for the next day ahead ...

  • "In other News" it's a Pagan 'Happy Friday the 13th"
Digital artwork of a witch with a black cat under a crescent moon, created for the blog The Truth About Friday the 13th exploring its pagan origins and spiritual meaning.
Pagan Origins: Friday, the Day of the Goddess

In ancient cultures, Friday was sacred to the Divine Feminine.
It’s named for Freyja, the Norse goddess of love, beauty, war, and magic—whose energy embodies passion, intuition, and independence.
As a day associated with Venus in Roman tradition, Friday carried deep connections to fertility, sensuality, and feminine power.

Likewise, the number 13 was once revered. With 13 lunar cycles in a year, this number symbolized the sacred rhythm of the moon, menstruation, and the goddess herself. Far from being feared, it was honoured as a number of creation, transformation, and spiritual insight.
In pagan cultures, a coven of 13 witches was considered complete and magically aligned.

Bring with me the usual presents of chocolates and floral display it is; as I guess it would be/is for most mums, the semtiment of words and verse contained within the greeting card which means the most.

She is in better shape than she was, and with a stocking up of the Fridge/Freezer, a cleaning of the flat, a check of the medications she should be taking, I am content in the fact that she seems to be doing what she should be doing.

We spend an afternoon of memory recall.
Rolling back the years; though with a focus on the 1960's those familiar tales rear themselves up again.
Several times of "Do you remember?" events of when I was 2,3.4 etc, I'm sure are clear for her, though less for me..

Still, whether it be the constant re-telling or spark of recall, I do have a (actual) memory or two of both those and other major historical events.

Part of the requirement to obtain (U.K.) State pension is to provide such in relation to Divorce.
Being as it was over 20 years ago it presented a challenge; to both me and my ex-wife.

Now it is in my possession, I send off the application proper, and await it's return and confirmation of entitlement

  • Renewal - a chance to release what feels heavy and embrace fresh energy

This is not a time for force or urgency. Instead, Ostara encourages gentle expansion, like the first buds of spring pushing through the soil.

Spring seems to be here (well a Sunny day in Manchester is a treat of sorts)
A turning of the seasonal wheel always seems to bring with it a refreshment of energies, and with it's change there is a re-invigeration of vigour which sees a shiver of sensitive vibration within the body felt.

- A warming sunrise is a good start to refresh the body and I begin to start on 'the big clear out and up of the home.
There's a lotta paperwork to sift through before I think I can feel content in my re-organisation, though as Lao Tzu once upon a time ago "A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step" - and so the removal of memories will commence.

With a good clearing out completed I'm reminded of memories good, bad and sometimes unfortunate.
It's a time consuming task that I did kinda forsee.

Post collection of the little 'uns, we get back to the (daughter's) home and we await the return from school of their (14th) Birthday boy brother.

Upon his return from school he is greeted by cards and prezzies - suitable for someone of his age.
Whilst there are several to go through, the modern age of 'convenience' attributed to online shopping is tinged with a degree of disappointment; as there are packages which have failed to arrive.

Maybe it's the expection of failure to delivery these days that there is more disappointment on the donor than the recrepricent
(Tis the modern age)

There is a spead of unusual delight. No Birthday cake (guess he's too old for that)
The MFSB family gather around and there is a degree of fun enjoyed.

The early evening and return home at the end of the event sees the Manchester rain joined by the howling of a wind that makes walking let alone driving feel a tad of trepidation.
I negotiate the standing water on the motorway and significantly I note others had slowed doen to a reasonable speed of travel - Lokkks like even the 'boy racers' have realosed the degree of danger that the weather has despathched.

Good job I wrapped up and warm at home, and decide retiring to a comfortable bed is one's best option.

The walk back from the school a lot easier, though I do get somewhat aggrieved at the etiquette of some drivers around the school site.
Focusing on the road, and pedestrians around them is one thing, - Disregard for other users of the King's highway becuase of their own indvidual desire to believe they have right of way in all circumstances as they collect and depart the said area an be both frustrating and annoying.

A couple of 'adventures' in the night see me firstly being evicted from my home by strangers - though from my positionof oversight seemed to give me the impression that I was 'not there' and more of a spiritual obsevation than a physical one.

The second was much nicer, as I interacted with a female who was of somewhat vulnerable position.
It's wasn't as bad as it sounds - I was more of chivalrous rescuer/protector in my actions - and made for a better wake up for/to the day

Well I'm a tad disappointed in the fact that Postman Pat did not deliver the expected Free bus pass - ah well, maybe tomorrow (?)
Almost at the end of my annual leave I still have 'taxi duties' to do.

I may my way to collect my mother for her regular though annual eye injectio appointment
'Macc.' is a fair distance from both she - and with no public transportation to assist travel, so the car is the only real option,

I get to Mums in plenty of time - however, upon doing so it seems very much ahead of time; as when we get there it seems that she's got the date wrong and it's actually tomorrow - ah well - bless.

I get to spend some time with her and we; once again wander down memory lane.
She tells me that the formerly closed down restrurantis due to re-open which would give her and her fellow apartment residents more opportunity to meet/liase..

I feel it's important for those who either need or would benefit from interacting with their peers to do so, for in their common interests and understanding and it'll be a positive action - if it comes to fruition.

Upon my return, I grab a chippy tea,
