Yet she received no jail time! I have seen quite a few stories lately about a parent or parents who are so unbelievably cruel to their children that it's unfathomable. Most live in filthy homes, starve and/or beat their children. Some lock them in their rooms or basements. Why even have children if you're going to treat them that way?! Is it pure evil in them or what? I say if you don't want them, take them to a police station or hospital. Maybe they get off on the cruelty.

IMO yes , to your question about pure evil in them.........I believe pure evil does exist .

If the evidence/facts , reported so far prove to be true. Prosecute them to the Max !

The judge is a moron. She needed to go to prison and the children should have been resettled. What the hell’s wrong with people? Obviously, this woman should have also been court-ordered psych-tested. She very obviously has issues. I would agree that she is evil due to probably psychiatric issues. Additionally, the boyfriend should have been directed to leave the home until he also undergoes psychiatric care.

I have always had a soft spot for children. They are so innocent and unable to defend themselves. I never turn a blind eye if I see a child being abused or mistreated. Even being retired, I continue to stand by my conviction of defending those that cannot defend themselves.

Believe it or not, she's not the worst mother out there. And, this one was paroled early:

I agree. I read about 75% of the link that was sent. It just amazes me how our justice system works. I have seen so much wrong that I could (and probably should) write a book. Unfairness is not even a close word to describe some of the judges' rulings that I have personally witnessed.

This horrible family, for the most part, received a well deserved visit from the Karma bus. I would have expected better from the parole board after all of the citizens signed a petition to keep her in prison where she did belong. She should have only left prison in a pine box.

I truly wonder if the cost of keeping them in prison doesn't weight into the fact these kind of people are even up for "parole" board consideration. Don't want to start a link on capitol punishment, but quite honestly, what is the alternative. Would love to hear a better idea than letting these sick people back on the streets, with or without their meds.

Don’t even get me started on where the money comes from to run a prison. Did you know that depending on a prison’s budget, they have been known to do early releases? Prison administrators are “supposed” to withhold releasing any felon that is considered dangerous. But, if you ever have a moment, check out what Haley Barbour did in Mississippi when he commuted sentences for felons, including murderers. He made a feeble attempt to explain away his actions, but it did very little to appease the families of the victims.

Cops, along with Prosecutors, put felons in prison for a reason; mostly to protect the public. We expect them to stay there.

I have NO sympathy for anyone who abuses a child. The law should give such a parent the same treatment that they were giving the children....in this case a diet of nothing but feces.
Fun to say or think, maybe, but no place in reality when it comes to the law. There's no eye for eye or eating feces for eating feces.

Unfortunately, our legal system is heavily biased in favor of the criminals. We spend Billions/yr. to warehouse these misfits....so as Not to Violate their rights. The "victims" are mostly Ignored.

The cost of inmates' upkeep & care is precisely the main factor in parole. Public safety or the likelihood of re-offending has nothing to do with it. And inmates' upkeep goes up as they age. That's why the Manson murderers are up for parole. A "life sentence" doesn't mean life.
And execution IS the only way to reduce violent crime. And it's cheaper.

I have had Prosecutors and members of a parole board tell me that it’s not that judges are biased in favor of criminals, but rather it sometimes comes down to following sentence recommendations and guidelines from the DOJ. If those guidelines are ignored, it is possible to request to be re-sentenced.

Hypothetically, a judge may hand down a sentence of 10-15 years to a felon, only to have an appeals court send it back to the state court for re-sentencing due to an error by the judge when he instructed or charged the jury. The judge may then re-sentence the felon to 8-12 years.

In Pennsylvania, life is life. The only way out early is a pardon granted by either the Governor or President.

I do like to watch true crime shows but I will always change the channel when the crime story has to do with harming or neglecting children. I hate that and I won't watch it. I also change the channel when it's about psychopathic neighbors. Geeze, another thing I should worry about? I also will not watch anything that has to do with gangs of any type.

Yeah....I remember, just before he left office, Bill Clinton pardoned drug dealers who contributed to his re-election campaign.

Clearly, this woman is not acting "motherly". I was put of fby the 'probation". But, you can't lock someone up forever. What you liked to do , and what is legal are two different things. By putting her on probation, it gives the court a way to act in the future. When the boyfriend stops tossing bottles, he will impregnate her. And does anyone really believe that this 'mother' will have a different outcome with a future child? At least, with probation, it will be easier to monitor the child's welfare.

No, it won't; there won't be much monitoring with someone on probation. Such monitoring is also costly & it's another area where costs are cut.
I personally know someone who was supposed to be "monitored" after a felony assault conviction. She wasn't.

What a sad, horrific case. I'd never heard of it before. But she wasn't actually that child's mother, although she certainly wasn't a good role model for her own children. May little Sylvia R.I.P.
She encouraged her own children to participate in the victim's torture & murder - which they did.

This pos was already under investigation and reportedly threw bottles as well.

There is that point of no return where someone shouldn't even be allowed to redeem themselves. This is one. Hate to say as but not to shift blame my guess she probably experienced or witnessed similar behavior. Hard to believe someone can concoct acts like these.
