Woman is fired for being too attractive

Anyone remember this case. Discussing "Employment-at-will" in one thread made me think of this case. An Iowa dentist discharged an associate because she was so pretty, he may get too attracted to her and it would ruin his marriage, hmmm. Studying employment law intensely at one time for my own case, you would not believe some of the case facts/decisions out there.

The Conclusion starts at page 17 if you do not wish to read any or all.

I read the whole thing. The dentist was going through a mid life crisis, his wife was feeling threatened, and the lady was caught in the middle.

The court ruling may have come out different for her had she not kept replying to his personal texts. Had she complained after the first one I believe she may have been taken more seriously.

I could see her getting fired if she were a spokesperson for ugly pills but I smell fakery afoot in this instance!

Could it be that the letter of the law sometimes locks horns with the spirit of the law and we all tend to suffer when that happens? Thank goodness we have attorneys to protect us from ourselves or do they?
