Woman never came for paintings

I had an estate sale 2 years ago when a local woman stopped and saw some paintings in the house she wanted. At that time, I wasn't selling them, but I took her phone number in case I ever decided to sell. Now I want to sell them and contacted her. She made an appointment to come back and look, but the time came and went and she never appeared. I waited 2 days and never heard back from her, so I called her and asked why she didn't come or even to call to say she wasn't going to show. She replied, "It was raining." I was confused and persisted as to why that would stop her from coming. She said that anyone with "half a brain" would realize nobody would come to look at paintings in a rainstorm. Now is it logical that anyone would assume that a person wouldn't keep an appointment because if rain? I think if I couldn't make an appointment for whatever reason, I'd at least call the person and let them know and not keep them waiting.
 

BTW - When I offered to let her re-schedule, she said she didn't want to. I assume this means she is no longer interested. I wish she would have indicated that when I first called. I rather people be up front than stand-up.
 

You probably caught her offguard with your call after such a long time. It took her awhile to think about it before realizing that she was no longer interested. She should have called and let you know that, but some people avoid these things if they can, have trouble saying no.
 
Sorry you didn't get to sell your paintings..they do seem to be very different styles to each other, I'm surprised that someone who liked one of the styles would also like the other. I like the one on the left, do you know the artist of that one?

I agree with SB's last post , I suspect that's exactly what occurred ..just put it behind you , and put them on craigslist or ebay I'm sure you'll get some interest !!
