Women and their facial makeup…

I recall reading somewhere that the most carefully applied makeup makes you look as though you aren't wearing any. That's what I shoot for: nothing too heavy, just foundation to smooth and even my skin tone, and no eye makeup except mascara. Plus, of course, I think everyone can tell if a woman is wearing lipstick, so I don't really count that.

This isn't me ;)

No makeup for me except an occasional blemish covering liquid. If people don't like me the way I am, that's their problem.

This isn't me - just an example of going overboard with cosmetics.

I ought to do that and send a photo to my daughter. I'll get all gussied up and have her believin'! She is, among other things, a makeup artist for the theatre. She will have a cow when she believes it is real. Thanks for the idea!

I quit making up a few years ago when I moved to these rural mountains. However, 15+ years ago, I had permanent eyeliner and lipstick done. The lips have faded, the eyeliner could use some touching up but I just don't care anymore.

This is me, take it or leave it.

I put my make-up on every morning; it's part of my routine. Tinted moisturizer, mascara and light eye shadow. Maybe a little smudge stick on my nose. However, I do this for me and no one else. I like the way my make-up looks and that's all that matters.

For the record, my husband likes the way I look with or without, cause he's lovely like that.

It is interesting that some people seem to change dramatically with make up - and other's stay pretty natural looking.

As said above, people should do what makes them happy! I like watching videos where people put on makeup. :ROFLMAO:

I like the 2nd one - enhances her appearance without overdoing it. Of course her hair is brushed in after pic too so that helps too.

First lady has overdone it IMO.

I also stopped wearing make up. The only make up I use is a bit of blush. I used to always wear eye liner and mascara but have stopped doing that. Every once in a while I’ll wear it.

My mother was a beautiful woman who wore some makeup. She used Merle Norman products. I will never forget as a kid when she got a Merle Norman makeover, false eyelashes and all, and when she came home I was shocked... and not in a good way!

I remember a nice pic you once posted of your lovely mom. Am I correct that she was sitting at a booth wearing red ? Or am I all mixed up?

Also I remember Merle Norman products being popular way back when and the makeovers 😊

When I'm just running out, I'll put on moisturizer and sunscreen, foundation powder, a little tinted lip gloss, and no eye makeup. I'll put on a BB cream or light foundation, blush, neutral eye shadow, a little eyebrow powder, and lipstick if I'm heading out for dinner or somewhere in the afternoon. I don't need mascara, so I seldom wear it.
