If the fate of our nation is at stake, what is wrong with having every available person take up arms? Is a bullet less likely to kill, if it's fired by a female?
Your post was nonsense unless you can justify your wreckless use of the term "enslavement". A punk is some one that dresses in wool and therefore follows like sheep. The only punk here is you.Forgive me if I'm mixing you up with another man on this forum BUT
Aren't you the guy who punked out of military service during Vietnam? And...........you're questioning ME? Chutzpah!
The US had a peacetime draft. You don't think Elvis joined up on his own, do you? It was in effect from the end of WWII to 1973.Then they don't need a draft. This is what the topic is supposed to be about I'm guessing.
Mind you if anyone is a straight shooter they can always be snipers.
I've never seen a draft when there was no war on. I'm not sure of that.
close to 30 years ago, so why is it coming up now? There was still a bit of turmoil. The Korean War and Vietnam and of course the Cold War.

Right on I used 2000 instead of 2020..And by the way, 1973 is closer to 50 years ago...unbelievable how time passes.
Good one, Unfortunately with women’s liberation this is a natural and very late coming next step, equal rights is just that equal rights. My daughter served in Afghanistan very honorably as did my son in Iraq as did my husband, all are very tough, courageous people.Pepper-quit it
Now, it takes less than a pounds of pressure to pull a trigger;
anyone think a woman can't do that
Ask a husband how much pressure a woman is capable of

There is truth in your statement.....I have nothing but respect for the men and women who serve. They are indeed tough and courageous. But, realistically, very few women can hump an M-60 up and down the mountains of Afghanistan on patrol all day. Some can, but not many. So if women serve in the infantry there will be jobs they can and cannot do, and, people being people, that will create divisions and resentment instead of unit cohesion.
There is truth in your statement.....
Thank you.No disrespect meant to women who serve or women in general, of course.
Your granddaughter is an angel God bless her always and keep her safeI wouldn't want my 2 granddaughter's in the Army.......But the older one is a Nurse and I can see her in the Service...
Right now she is in the Hospital every day, with this Virus spreading around....I fear for her....I talked to my son today....She finally took a day
out and slept all day and night....She then went back to the Hospital the next day....She has always been a care person....
God Bless her....
Nope...not fake news. This from NPR:"A congressionally mandated commission is recommending women should be eligible for the draft, a move that comes five years after the Pentagon opened all combat roles to women."
I could find no hint of the identity of said "commission", nor the names of anyone on it. I'm thinking fake news.
