Remember when... thirty seemed so old.

Last Friday, during a severe lightning storm, my fridge quit cooling. 
Seems that when I moved in, I forgot to put the surge protector in the plug socket, so, it wasn't protected. Really didn't want to have to spend something like $3500 to replace it, so I was bummed. Went to the repair guy's shop Saturday morning at 8:30... sign on door said 8 to 11 on Sat. Nobody around so I called their number and he said come back at 10 because we're running behind. Showed up at 10... still nobody. Waited til 10:45 then tried to call again. No answer this time. Went home and noticed that the cooling fan still worked on the fridge so I figured maybe it didn't fry the circuit board. Quick look on U-Tube and seems the start relay for the compressor gets cooked often. Ordered the part online ($75), the part came today and fridge is back up and running.
