Busman's Holiday (noun) - a vacation or form of recreation that involves doing the same thing that one does at work.

The police officer's vacation turned out to be a busman's holiday when he was called to help the local sheriff with a case.

I always wondered why it was called a busmans holiday.

When my father was a Bus conductor and then a Bus driver.. he literally took Busman's holidays when he would even wear his uniform when off duty so he could get a free ride..
