I first came across this word in one of Dean Koontz’s books when he spoke of the fog slowly deliquescing. I thought it was a delicious word the way it rolled off the tongue, though I had no idea what it meant!

So I looked it up, and one of the definitions was “to disappear as if by melting.” How lovely! It was the perfect word in the book I was reading!
