Diurnal organisms are those that are active during the day.

Common examples include most species of butterfly and dragonfly. In the case of dragonflies they are fierce predators with large eyes and hunt by day.

A related biological term is "crepuscular". It describes animals that are primarily active during dawn and dusk. Many animals, for instance, white-tailed deer, are crepuscular.

So a moth is diurnal. We see them in the morning fluttering around trying to find their beds.
