Word of the Day: Fluffernutter

fluffernutter : a sandwich made with peanut butter and marshmallow crème between two slices of white sandwich bread.

People mix many food items with peanut butter, but I have never been served a fluffernutter!

I was at a campfire many years ago. This girl brought huge marshmallows & a jar of peanut butter. She would spread it on the marshmallow & roast it. You had to wait for the P.B. to cool down but it was great tasting.

Goodness I haven't had a Fluffernutter sandwich since my daughter lived at home and she is 41 years old now so that is some time ago.

Back in the day, my mother would never have allowed us to make a fluffernutter. She never would have bought such a thing as marshmallow creme.

I remember Fluffernutters! I read awhile back that both MA and CT allege to have invented it, but it really was Massachusetts.

Never had a fluffernutter but have used many a jar of marshmallow creme in recipes. The fudge recipe on that jar made me a very popular person during the holidays. Make that and add nuts, fruit and marshmallows in any combination the family and coworkers are lining up. It also freezes very well.

Though I have never had a fluffernutter sandwich, I'm willing to try almost anything edible - and @Blessed's idea for fluffernutter fudge sounds amazing!

In elementary school, one of my friends/classmates brought a fluffernutter sandwich for lunch every single day.
