Word of the Day - Liaison...n.

Def.: A person who helps organizations or groups work together, provide information to each other, a close bond or connection.

The liaison worked to resolve the problem between the departments.

In order to plan a successful community event, it is important to identify people who would be able to serve as liaisons, between various local groups and the organizing committee.

The word liaison does not refer to a person. A liaison officer works as a go-between, taking care of staff, usually. A liaison would refer to a meeting between two parties.

This is the google def. I found: If someone acts as liaison with a particular group, or between two or more groups, their job is to encourage co-operation and the exchange of information. He is acting as liaison with the film crew. She acts as a liaison between patients and staff.
