Patois (noun) - the dialect of the people of a region, differing in some respects from the standard language of the rest of the country.

Inner-city teens appear to communicate entirely in a mix of street slang and patois.

People from other parts of the country have told me I have a patois but I could never see it. Well, when you live and talk a certain way all of your life you can't tell it in yourself but you can in others.
