Prosopagnosia (noun) - a rare neurological condition where in facial recognition is absent.

Susan didn't recognize someone she knew that greeted her in the store because she had prosopagnosia.

This is me! No kidding. I knew there was a name for it. When it's somebody I see often...like daily...or a family member, I'm fine.

When it's somebody I've just met and then see again as soon as even a day later...nope.

Way back in the way back, I had clients that I'd only see every two weeks or so but in their own homes. If I saw them out it public somewhere, I'd walk right past.

I really, really like my doctor but only see her once or maybe twice a year. She was in line behind me in Target one day and spoke to me. Had no idea who she was. Fortunately, she's aware of my affliction.

It's embarrassing.
