Rhotacism (noun) - a speech defect in which the "r" sound cannot be pronounced correctly.

Cartoon character Elmer Fudd might have had rhotacism. "That wascally wabbit!"

I don't want to discriminate people from other nations, but as far as I know there are some countries in the Far East. Their people can't pronounce the "r" correctly.

I can't pronounce some letters and sounds correctly without my complete upper denture in and even with it it's not as before. But most people understand me.

My ex is Indonesian. He said his grandmother said: Naar de markt kopen pis. Go to market to buy piss instead of fish. Vis. She couldn't say the v. I don't know about the r.
