I approached the self checkout with a trepidatious air, fully expecting to be falsely accused of putting something “unexpected in the bagging area”, again!

I’ve never bought anything unexpected in my life!

I did once walk away from the self checkout and out of the store without paying -- my mind was somewhere else. A nice woman followed me out and walked me back in again so I could pay. She was very understanding. I might need a different Word of The Day to describe that.
