World Series game 1 tonight Friday 10/25/24 at 5pm PDT (8pm EDT)

The worst thing about the World Series coverage are the political ads. I already voted. They are painful to watch. Thank goodness for the mute button, and the FF button.
We start watching the games an hour in and usually catch up with live action around the middle of the 8th inning or so. FF through all the commercials.

Because of all the heavy bats, this series was expected to be high scoring. Surprisingly, it's been more about pitching duels that should, on paper, be favoring the Yankees.

As the saying goes: that's why they have to play the game.

Tonight Tuesday could be the day when Freddy's last shot finally puts the zombie bitten Yankees back into their winter crypt.

Game 4 again starts at 5pm PDT (8pm EDT)

Last night, watched part of Game 5, when the Dodgers were behind 5-0,I couldn't stay awake any longer
What joyous news to learn about the miraculous comeback, what a way to win the World Series
I watched the highlights on Youtube, very happy they won and Freddie Freeman deserves MVP

I believe there were three Yankee errors.

I believe there were three Yankee errors.
Three Yankee errors in the fifth inning essentially gifted the Dodgers with three extra outs, which they took full advantage of, taking the score from 5-0 to 5-5. As A-Rod, Big Papi, and Cappy (Derek Jeter) remarked later, NY's disastrous defensive inning was an all but fatal blow to the Yankees' hopes of forcing a game 6.

The Dodgers had the best record in baseball during the 2024 season, so winning the WS was hardly a fluke.

Congratulations to the boys in blue!

Remember 1956 Brooklyn Dodgers--remember listening to World Series with my sister on her transistor radio.

My grandson was rooting for Dodgers. I think to annoy his mother :ROFLMAO:

Yes. Some real boneheaded mistakes Like the pitcher not covering first base when the first baseman has to leave to get the ball. Catcher interference with a batter? What a goof. And the Dodgers capitalized on mistakes as a championship team should do.

What happened between the 4th and 5th innings in the Yankee dugout? Did they lose their good luck talisman? Whatever happened they returned the style of play in the first three games.

You found last night's game boring?
Was my comment not clear? BB players spend way too much time, scratching their rears, tapping dirt of their shoes, removing their hats, etc. etc. I loved playing the game, played all the way through college, but it is boring to watch! Especially at the professional level.

That's my opinion. And as you probably know, opinions are just like belly buttons, everyone has one.

But, to each his/her own.

Have you watched games recently? They're considerably quicker with the advent of pitch clocks, players or pitchers being unable to call time between each pitch, and players being awarded the next base the third time the pitcher unsuccessfully attempts to throw out a steal.

I only watch a few games during the season unless I'm actually attending. I quite enjoy the Little League World Series and women's college softball.

Yes! That's why I commented.
I too enjoy Little League, which I coached for many years. I loved doing that. I watch college baseball and women's softball also. It just the 'bigs' that seem to drag on and on when I watch...

Any fans were not bored though mistakes subtract from a game's greatness. Especially over the last couple innings. Baseball watching tension can rise to high levels when everything is on the line with each following pitch. Especially with 2 outs, bases loaded, as climaxed Game 1's ending with a dramatic for the ages grand slam. Also with players in scoring position at third base on a close game, 2 outs, and a 3 ball 2 strike count, every subtle movement of waiting batter, and a pitcher's video close-up of their faces provides plenty of tension.

By inning 3, was expecting the Yankees would cruise to victory with a return to Los Angeles for game 6. Know how New York fans must feel similar to how the 49ers fans when they lost SuperBowls after seemingly being well ahead.

The Yankees losing the WS in such spectacular collapse was totally devastating for me. And I'd been all excited that they were playing the Dodgers--when I was a kid in NY, I thought the WS was only supposed to be between these 2 teams. That Game 5 fifth inning was so embarrassing. And Freeman's GS in the first game nearly killed me. I have to concede, the Dodgers really did play much better.

My condolences, and I mean that sincerely. We've all suffered when our beloved teams have done poorly.

The Yankees and their fans (myself included) can and should be proud of a team who worked together, behaved as gentlemen, showed good sportsmanship, and had some shining moments throughout the season.

The Dodgers happened to be the better playing team during that particular week. Had the series been played two weeks earlier or later - who knows?
