Very good thread you started, JustMe! And I agree with what you say (and with what others said to varying degrees)
As we can see, we (I say we instead of 'those people!
) worship stars, celebs, and sports figures...but OH MY and mercy me, when they make a 'mistake' they are nearly crucified for 'disappointing' their public adorers-fans... even though the 'mistakes they make are NO WORSE than what WE or family or friends do in our everyday lives. Staying on that pedestal is difficult and very precarious. This too, shows human frailty on our parts... it gives us excuses to point fingers and accuse... rather than concentrate on our own lives.
In Denver, statistics show that more spouses are beaten (with he police getting involved) when the Broncos lose than at any other time. You talk about 'living vicariously' through others... that is very sad.
