Would you Continuously Cruise if you had plenty of Cash? Italy - Mediterranean are very popular.

I wouldn't take even a short cruise. The idea of being on a huge ship with thousands of people is nearly as horrible to me as being a resident of a nursing home would be.

I know plenty of people who love going on cruises, and no one who would find a way to compare them to nursing homes, so there's that.

I don't think I'd cruise continuously. I've been one cruise and didn't really care for it.

However, if I could cross the ocean on the only transatlantic liner left—Cunard's beautiful Queen Mary 2—I'd jump at the chance.

And I'd practically cut off a limb to be able to travel on one of the classic liners, such as the Lusitania, the Olympic, or <swoon> the Normandie.

But continuous cruising? No thank you.

I would never want to cruise continuously but a couple of cruises a year are great. My typical limit is 10 days because I want to spend a few days before or after in the port of embarkation/debarkation. We've spent time before/after cruises in places like Rome, Barcelona, Athens, Juneau, Hong Kong, Singapore and Montreal. Cruising has allowed me to visit Alaska, Europe, Canada/New England and Asia. It is much less expensive than just staying in those ports because there are meals and evening entertainment aboard the ship at no charge. I prefer very few "sea days" and mostly days in port and would never go on a large ship.

I would never even compare it to a nursing home because most of the other passengers are our age... in their 60's... and they are still quite active.
