Would you dine at an Offal Restaurant?

What next? "Beach sweepings" including fish nobody normally eats, seaweed chosen because of overgrowth that needs to be cleared from channels?

My husband loved chicken hearts. Years and years ago we could get them at a small country grocer. These days all I see are livers and gizzards. Never found another store where you could buy them by the pound. Keep in mind, my life is really small, I don't go far from home very often.

No thank you.

I made beef tongue once. The recipe I used gave the tongue great flavor, but no one could get past the texture of it. The dog had a few great meals. Now I get the tongue when we get our side, I give it to our friend who grew up with it.

However, as a kid I did love my Mom's fried liver smothered in onions. Years ago a local restaurant had it on their buffet & it was like hers. I don't make it because no one else will eat it.

I do like some liver pates, especially with black truffle. That is something I just started to eat a few years ago.

Sure. I'll go for liver, gizzards, and hearts. The farm where I buy my chicken and turkey makes a fabulous turkey liver pâté that I love.
