Would you eat a snake? Pythons might become a new menu item in Florida.

If the python was lightly based in a savory sauce and baked until crispy on a cedar platter or board and served on the same platter of which it was cooked.......I would throw out the Python and eat the board.

The way I was raised, trying unusual and different things, yes, I would. would have to be cooked, of course. I have tried several different game meats over the span of my life.

have never eaten snake though wouldn't hesitate to try... as long as it was cooked and wasn't whole and all coiled up on a platter. have had eel as part of the Christmas Italian 7 Fishes tradition... like mild white fish to me... like flounder or halibut.

if snakes are to continue being legally sold as pets, they should be chipped with name/address of owner. then when it's captured as an invasive species suspected of EATING 7 pets that went missing... owner can be identified and held responsible. it's obvious that there needs to be a workable plan for people to relinquish a pet/snake and discourage people from just setting them free... and a fee.

My idea to combat those things is to equip drones with cameras that can detect differences in heat radiating off the ground to locate where these snakes are hiding, and also have them equipped with some type of gun or firing device. Maybe poison tipped darts or something. Have another camera attached to the gun like a sight and just shoot them where they are.

I figure if each trained drone operator who drove out into the Everglades and spent the day hunting pythons could kill 5 snakes per day x 5 days per week, that's 100 snakes per month x 12 months = 1200 snakes per year per drone operator.

Multiply that x however many drone operators they could afford to employ, or hire independent contractors and pay them per head as there would have to be digital video of each kill, and they could put quite a dent in the python population.

I had rattlesnake once, tastes just like chicken. That was in New Joisey.

Don't let your little ones wander in the "Glades", there all kinds of critters there.

That's possible, but note that we snack when we're bored, or just for pleasure. But (like most animals), a snake that isn't hungry will ignore food.
Many animals are capable of easily killing a human. That's doesn't mean they want to or that they will.
A Mountain Gorilla can tear a human apart with hardly any effort:

Best post.

Sure deceiving how monstrous these primates really are.

When papa got up and sauntered off at the end, he dwarfed the man with the camera.
He should, at around 400 lbs. And:
Gorilla strength is estimated to be about 10 times their body weight. Fully grown silverbacks are actually stronger than 20 adult humans combined. A Silverback gorilla can lift 4,000 lb (1,810 kg) on a bench press, while a well-trained man can only lift up to 885 lb (401.5 kg.Oct 19, 2020

Probably
Would I be allowed to bring my own bottle of sriracha?

I've had worse

Turns out, dog is delicious
Never appreciated chow mien until I was in mainland China
The trick, no huge slabs of meat....just little bits, enough to taste

The entree consist of boiled dog
It's quite the delicacy......when you can get it

Actually, the first time I heard the yelping dogs, I thought a taxi had hit one
Turns out they were tenderizing the day's meals

The saying there was 'If you're going to be a dog, be a small cute one'
(guess they don't get eaten)

Guangdong was a happening province

Loooooooooooooooooong time no read partner. Is that the same drop live dogs in pots of boiling water thing? I'm quite sure I saw a documentary about that many moons ago.

Solly pupee I boil you long time.

Never saw pots of boiling dogs, but never poked my face into their kitchens.
Bad enough cruising by the swill filled tanks of snakes and weird 'fish' in front of nicer eateries.
At night, you could see back alleys pretty much filled with machinists filling orders from local factories, and pieces of dog on spits.
Looked and smelled pretty darn good.

This was in Y2K, when Hong Kong took back everything
Kowloon was one partying place....all day...all night
Kowloon.....big big city......lotsa clubs......most people could speak English

I preferred staying in the factory towns

Ok, so how did they get a gorilla to do bench presses? "C'mon, Koko, just two more!"
