Would you extend your life if technology was available?

Extending life through science, considering medication or artificial methods. So yes, but not a dead person‘s brain in a robot. While alive would you extend your life by acceptable means?

If you are talking about putting my brain in a robot, would I do it? Hell, yeah. I may be a geezer, and pretty much worn out, but I still like living. And if you're talking about other technologies, why not? Most of us are on some kind of medication, on your last birthday did you say, "Well,, that's old enough for me, I won't take any more meds"?

Are we discussing something like this? If so, bring it on! (-8

"Just a few doses of an experimental drug can reverse age-related declines in memory and mental flexibility in mice, according to a new study by UC San Francisco scientists. The drug, called ISRIB, has already been shown in laboratory studies to restore memory function months after traumatic brain injury (TBI), reverse cognitive impairments in Down Syndrome, prevent noise-related hearing loss, fight certain types of prostate cancer, and even enhance cognition in healthy animals.
In the new study, published Dec. 1, 2020, in the open-access journal eLife, researchers showed rapid restoration of youthful cognitive abilities in aged mice, accompanied by a rejuvenation of brain and immune cells that could help explain improvements in brain function."

We already try to lift the quality of life through taking nutrients, exercise, etc. I'm not sure what you are describing.
Birth, childhood, adulthood, old age and death renewal into new lives is a natural movement of the soul, which I agreed to
before I came to Earth. Nope,
The rest of my life lies before me and I'm racing to meet it. And lifting with the Angels to meet a different, new, exciting life is
something I welcome! I will live through eternity and have many more adventures ahead in new bodies!

The question of how long each of us wants to live greatly depends on that being a positive healthy, interesting, enjoyable experience. When individuals are asked, their own experience weighs heavily on answering. Even a healthy, youthful, fit, intelligent person, may no longer wish to live if confined to a boring activity-less prison cell.

A fit, intelligent person, with many possible interesting activities, may no wish to live if they have some painful debilitating affliction. A person that has lived a life on the dark side with negative psychological issues and habits, filth and sadism hurting others, may at some point realize they were utter failures without reason to continue. Even a healthy, youthful, fit, intelligent person, may no longer wish to live if they so narrowly focused their lives say on boring career work without ever developing interesting ways to enjoy themselves. Like those all about watching others on tv or movies, never reading, playing inane computer games, not developing interpersonal relationships, etc. And eventually if one lives long enough, our organic bodies degenerate in myriad ways, incapable of enjoying life as they were used to.

If the question were rather, would you extend your life from the mature fit healthy physical state we had reached before middle age set in, the majority would indeed want that. This curious science educated person would absolutely want to live so eternally on this vast DNA organic blue water world I love immensely if possible. And that is the prime reason I seek eternal life. My suspicion is those many in Genesis from Adam's days that lived up to a millennia if true were genetically engineered by a race of Ultimate Intelligent Entities from normal homo sapiens stock. So that may be an upper limit of what in our future becomes possible. Something I can make reasonable arguments about.

No. If I live another 10 years, that will be enough. If I live longer I'm almost certain I'm going to feel I'm in the over-stay zone no matter what state my body and mind are in. In my opinion, the average person does not have the power to effect the world outside his immediate family, and even less so outside his immediate community, so, being an average person, I see no purpose in staying any longer than long enough to see my grandchildren reach adulthood (and that is primarily out of vanity). If I want to contribute something to the world after that, I'll donate my body to science.

The benefits of NMN are also interesting

If you mean to live beyond a normal life expectancy absolutely not! I’m looking forward to what is next 😌

I want to stay around for as long as I'm physically, and mentally, able to lead a fairly normal life. If there is a "supplement" that can help extend those years, I would be interested. However, living to be a "centurion", or beyond, doesn't really appeal to me. As I grow older, my "curiosity" about what happens when this body wears out continues to increase.

That scraping sound is my butt dragging. It is getting worn out. In 12 years I will be 100, but I do not speculate on the odds.

Over the years I have been in a dozen hospitals for patches, fixes and new parts. I have not heard of any technology that turns the clock back.

Hell I have already fought through two Cancer diagnosis so why not keep fighting as long as I was physically and mentally able.

Not unless that technology was also available for animals.
