Would you meet other members on this forum?

It's funny, my husband, who is not on any forums would love to have a meet up with the group here. He loves people and does well in groups. I, on the other hand, have no desire to go to any forum meet ups. I am very happy the way things are right now. I like to write and converse with people when I want to and I like to shut off the computer and walk away when I want to.

"got room for a 38 ft motor home and 20 ft car trailer? Oh yeah, and room for the portable doggie kennel? "

And a 50 Amp hookup, and dump spot to boot...
We actually have met many folks from forums over the years... Part of the joy of life...

We tried to have a meet with folks from a local forum from one of the news channels several years ago. We picked a restaurant everyone agreed on and reserved a place. Expected about 20 only 2 showed up, me and the lady who made the reservation.
I would love to meet with all of you but with my wife's health I doubt we could travel very far.

Having done a few of these meetups I will mention that we can spend an enormous amount of time trying to find a location that works, but any area we choose won't be acceptable to everyone. That's just the way it is, because we have folks spread across the entire nation. Plus, as @rkunsaw mentioned there will be a few people who will commit but then not show.

The difference here though is that most of us will have to make actual travel plans/airline tickets/hotel reservations etc.,(and in my case I'll have to get off work) in other words there will need to be an actual commitment well before the event which will reduce the no-shows.

@Gardenlover - You could try planning a meet-up with members in Florida and see how that goes. Then you'll have some experience and could try to have a broader meet-up later on. Of course, those that are willing to come to Florida can also join the Florida event. Just a suggestion here.

If I could afford the trip, I would love to visit Egypt. OMG, the Pyramids, sailing down the Nile, seeing all those temples and buildings that are thousands of years old. Plus even the Egypt of today is a fascinating place to visit.
Ain't gots no money, though.

Egypt USED to be on my bucket list, then reality set in, no money. Misery loves company, eh fuzzybuddy?

well we’re not talking about venturing beyond the US so .... there’s that 😌

Y’know, if we have a few members who’d travel to a get together if there was room to park a motor home, we might want to think about that.
I mean @Liberty talked about having lots of land, so at least a bunch of folks could park their motor homes there. Of course there wouldn’t be hookups so the problem of at least having somewhere to shower and use a restroom would have to be solved but depending on the time of year the Motorhomes could at least be used for sleeping.

Er....how many bathrooms d’you have, @Liberty? 😂😉

I was old enough to go, but wasn't interested in the lifestyle.

How many here would be willing to travel to meet in others that participate in the Senior Forums? I think it would be a blast, a Senior Forums Conference, so to speak. I've traveled further distances for less.

Stranger things have happened, no?

What say ye?
That would be awesome. I don't drive too far these days so if you guys come to VBeach... I am all in. I would bring my fun extroverted self..lol
