Would you rather listen to music from the 70’s or music from today?

I prefer to listen to, and play, good music from any and all time periods. Good music may be, to a certain extent, in the ear of the listener, so to speak, but those with a music background can pretty easily ascertain who's "got it," and who's faking it. I'll hit Puccini, for one hour, and then jam on Imagine Dragons, the next. As they say, "It's all good!"

I prefer to listen to current pop music most of the time ... my radio is set to pop/rock of today. There are a lot of talented singers, and I feel good and uplifted by most of it.

Listening to older stuff from the past can sometimes bring me down. .. I don't feel that 'attachment' to new music, so I enjoy it more.

I like the music of the fifties, sixties and seventies. No use whatsoever for contemporary music which is all just rap and blasting bass so loud the house or car actually shakes.

PS, I did like the grunge music of the nineties.

"Listening to older stuff from the past can sometimes bring me down"; me too; knowing that those happy times from the past aren't ever gonna happen again: hurts too much usually to be reminded of that.

I liked a lot of the music from the 80s even tho I was way past teen years then.

I was talking to a man once who said to me "there hasn't been a good song since 'Blue Skies". That was 1929! His wife was so embarrassed. That was only a couple of years ago too!

I like "easy listening" music from the 40s.

I also enjoy Jimmy Buffet music.
