Arnica is a plant in the sunflower family. I remember seeing it when I lived in northern Idaho, and would be out in the mountains trail riding, although I have never tried using it. I had a friend that I used to reside with a lot, and he would tell me about some of the native plants that I was not familiar with, and arnica was one of those plants.
According to what I have read, it is supposed to be great to help with healing bruises, and stopping pain, and can be used as a poultice as well as taken internally, or used as a tincture.
