Thank God it's Friday at last. What a week I've had. I was invited to my brother-in-law's birthday party at an Indian Restaurant on Tuesday. I was driving over a bridge when I heard a clunk under the car and a scraping noise. Put on the hazard lights and slowly parked in a No Stopping Zone. I rang my son, and he said to go to any garage and see if someone could help. I went to 6 garages to ask for help and got turned away 6 times. Came back to the car and rang my nephew to say I was having car trouble, and I couldn't make it.
I rang up my local car membership and told them what happened. They said a mechanic would come within the next two hours. Turned out there was a large branch stuck under the car, lucky there was no damage.
There's more to the story, but I won't go into it.

Last evening one of my neighbours left a Pizza with me and said she would come over about 6pm to have a meal together,
At 5.30 I tried to put on the oven and it's not working, dead as Julius Caesar. I had to heat it up in my sandwich maker wrapped in foil and heat melted the cheese and It couldn't be separated. Oh please, no more bad luck, my blood pressure was very high.

As the song goes - Things, can only get better

A woman gets into an elevator, an old fellow in there smiles. She returns the smile and says, "TGIF"! The fellow answers her and with: "S.h.i.t." The woman, thinking that he didn't hear her, slowly repeats "T.G.I.F." He simply repeats, "S.h.i.t.", just as slowly.
Exasperated, she laughs and says, "TGIF stands for Thank God It's Friday!, Silly!" The fellow replies, "I know that but: Sorry Honey, It's Thursday."

Fridays meant Latin & Ballroom, the dance school that we went to put on an end of week dance for all classes, from beginners to advanced. Once a month it became a grand ball with a big band orchestra, that was posh frock night when I would wear the black dinner suit and bowtie.
The Friday night ball was so different to Thursday, seeing us on Friday in top hat and tails (figuratively speaking) you wouldn't believe our mode of dress for the rock and roll, Thunderbird Club.

By far the best night was Sunday, we discovered a hotel with a dance floor, the lady proprietoress loved fifties rock 'n' roll music. She put on a fabulous fifties night every Sunday, every other week there would be a band, but even on the night when it was just the DJ, that hotel rocked. It became known as the weekend stretcher because the evening would end quite late, giving us all the last vestige of the weekend. Revellers came from far and wide, they could have only had a few hours sleep before being up for work on Monday.
