That's why it was so critical to beat the Russians to the table to grab all the engineers and chemists possible and reward them with a life in America. The actual numbers on Nazis executed for war crimes is a disgrace.
 

The Nazi regime was years ahead of the rest of the world in nuclear and rocket technology. Had they not been stopped in WWII, Europe would have been permanently overrun, and even our nation might have been at risk. The "captured" German scientists gave the US a huge head start in our nuclear and rocket programs.
